How to make a cat house
Is there really any special way to make a cat? Is there anything that you just really shouldn't include or add onto to it? I have been studying cathouse designs for many years now and the answer that I always come back to is, "As long as it is safe then build it." Cats really are not animals that you can stick in a box and say here you go enjoy. Cats love variety and the types of houses or living spaces that they enjoy are as varied as their personalities. I think that as more people are coming to understand the complex nature of cats that more people are beginning to see that cats can not be simply "boxed." When planning out how to make a cat the first and foremost thing on your mind should be, "Is it safe?" Depending on the cat you have and its unique personality you must clearly address this issue of safety. Here are some questions that you should ask yourself before putting one nail into your cedar wood cathouse. Does your cat like to climb? Does your cat prefer to lie around and do nothing? Is your cat inquisitive and interested in everything? Is your cat laid back and relaxed? Is your cat big and heavy? Is your cat small and light? Does your cat become easily disturbed or worried? Is your cat confident and secure? Is your cat an outdoorsy explorer? Is your cat a quiet homebody? Can you safely leave your cat alone in the ? Is your cat "fixed?" Does your cat have a favorite area or location?
All of these questions will help you in planning a fun and functional catthat will be safe and enjoyable specifically for your cat.
