Lack of self-confidence

Without doubts, we can affirm that the most frequent origin of the behaving problem is the insecurity. Imagine the following situation: a dog and his owner stay for several hours on the streets, walking through every place that could tempt the animal, zone in which other dogs could have made his needs and left his personal markings. At the end, the dog does not only not act as it would be desired (evacuating), but just when arriving home, even at the entrance of the house, he des it!, putting a a face of circumstance. The desperation will become the usual natural state for the dogs owner.

On determine cases, it is the owner who with his way of acting (holding the dog and taking him back home just after his evacuation), causes this situation, because when the dog perceives this circumstance, he dilates at maximum the possibility of evacuating, and does it when arriving home.

To mend this problem, it will be sufficient to prolong in five minutes the liberty of the dog after doing his needs, this way you will cut the association established by the dog (evacuation –end of the walk). Although, in most f occasions, the negative motive for not to evacuate is another. To evacuate, the dog waits until being inside his primary zone of territorial influence, the house and its surroundings, because of the reference of security that they give him. He does it even in spite of what his instinct might feel: to have his den clean and to cover it with his personal mark for the other dogs.

For better comprehension of the exposed, we will put a human example. Being, on a determine moment, in an needy situation, any person that doesn't suffer from insecurity problems can go to any public establishment and sooth his problem. But if he can wait a while until getting home, they would prefer to do it so.

If we, that have a full capacity of reasoning, act this way, what won't the dog do if he only does it by association.

The problem that the dog presents, lies in an uncontrolled of his sphincters by insecurity, though, he really can control them.. Besides the before quoted patterns, which in no case are self defeating, there are other measures to mitigate the insecurity of the dog. There are other special measures to mitigate the insecurity of the dog. And, in consequence, the problem it brings.

As already mentioned, the two circumstances that will strengthen more easily the insecurity of an exemplary, are the lack of freedom of movement and that of the day light. For it, you will adopt the necessary measures for both of them to be mix when taking the dog for a walk.

At the time for going for a walk with the animal, the owner has to acquire an extensive flexible leach. Against what it might seem, with it, the dog is as controlled as if he were with a short restrictive leash, but, giving him the freedom of movement enough as to present an evasive behavior before any kind of negative situation for him. Also, looking to give more security to the dog, the daily walks will be limited to schedules in which we can count with day light and without straying from the established for the animal as his territorial zone: surroundings of the house and other usual places of the dog.

To get the exemplary to evacuate in any place, these territorial or security zones must be gradually increased. This must be done in a progressive way and always and whenever you have verified the immediate zone nearest to the house, the dog not only evacuates but, also presents a normal behavior at different schedules and during at least two days.

To reinforce the positive conditions that you have decide to accord, you can use some kind of food to which the dog has access at the same time of the evacuation.

The same as with the reinforcements of other behaviors, the only observation would be is that the food you chooses, be it cheese or any other, has to be of an exclusive use for this determine purpose: the correction we which to strengthen.

You will have to establish the necessary conditionings to solve the problem: the positives, in the presence of the evacuation on the chosen zone, and the negatives, when its done outside this zone.

Independently from the positive conditionings already quoted, if you combine these with one negative, remote and if possible, of acoustic aversion, in the moment of the evacuation in a non desired place, you will correct the problem manifested by the dog in a short lapse of time.
