Afghan Hound Puppy Dog Breed & Race Information
The Afghan hound dog breed is the ultimate elegant dog, it is very tough, and has no problem bearing cold or hot weather or rain. This breed is ancient, its origin in Sinai, it was even mentioned in Egyptian scrolls, five thousand years ago. Afghan Hound export was forbidden for centuries. This breed did not arrive at Europe till the 20th century, when it was smuggled. English captain Baarff imported a beautiful specimen, Zardin, from Afghanistan. At the Crystal Palace Exposition, in 1907 it was a success. It is said this is the dog Noah picked for his Arc. His original name is Tazi, and is very similar to the Russian Tasy suggests common ancestors.
Character of the Afghan Hound: Proud and independent, stable and definitely not submissive, this dog might sometimes seem distant, though most of the times will be playful.
