Granted this isn't your average dogrecipe, it's actually cookies, however since variety is the spice of life, I suggest you try them. This dog recipe is not intended to be given to a dog every day but rather on special occasions.
¾ cup of whole-wheat flour
½ cup of unbleached all purpose flour
½ package of unflavored gelatin
½ cup of dry nonfat milk
½ tablespoon of brewer's yeast
1 tablespoon of honey
2 tablespoons of canola oil
Half a can of prepared dog , crumbled
2 tablespoons of chicken broth, or as much as needed
Preparation of dog
Place the oven rack in the center of the oven and pre heat the oven to 400 degrees F. Place 1 slightly greased baking pan aside.
Use a large size bowl and mix the flours, gelatin, dry milk, and yeast together.
In a separate medium bowl beat the egg until it becomes foamy with an electric mixer on medium speed and beat in the honey, oil, dogand broth.
Blend both the dry and wet preparation together with a spoon or your hand until it becomes a soft dough and starts to pull away from the bowl it is in. If it is dry add a teensy bit more broth to it.
Lightly flour a flat surface and turn the dough onto it. Use a rolling pin to roll it out to ½ inch of thickness. Cut out shapes dogrecipe shapes reusing the scraps. You will notice that in this dog recipe the dough will become stiffer as you work it.
