Interacting with other dogs
All ways use caution when you and your dog are approaching other. Canines instinctively greet each other and as a rule do not under normal circumstances have problems with each other. The problems arise when one of the is attempting to protect his "territory" or feels threatened by the other dog. Dogs who are the same race, size and sex are also often prone to fighting to try and prove dominance. When approaching another dog on a be careful not to apply tension to your dog's as this can put him on the defensive and it also causes your dog to raise his head, a sign, which the other dog could misinterpret as aggression. Praise your dog for greeting and investigating other without showing signs of aggression.
