Sample dog adventure Part:1

Here is an idea of the type of adventure excursion you could set up for the dogs and trainers to test their skills to the limit but without running the risk of losing control. Material: Make sure that all of the trainers are dressed appropriately for the climate and terrain in your location and that there is sufficient water and snacks both for the dog trainers and dogs. It is always a good idea to have a simple first aid kit any time you are out in the countryside walking or hiking.

This type of excursion will normally last about 4 to 5 hours but could easily last longer so make sure everyone is adequately prepared.
The dogs should all be on a leash (a normal adjustable leash of about 3 meters will be fine) and have a normal collar (not pinch or correctional).
The teams would begin on a path that runs down through a shallow andslightly wooded valley with a small stream running through the middle.
The teams would start off walking with the dogs loosely at "Heel" and the leash over the shoulder "Bandolier" style.
At the beginning the teams would walk around some small trees and then cross over the stream. As they are going up the other side of the valley on the path they would come across some other hikers (who are an integral part of the excursion) and the dogs would need to sit quietly and attentively on one side of the path while the dog trainers are standing on the other.
Continuing on the group could cross some wooden bridges that are rustic in build and especially after a rain slightly slippery. Dogs usually have a hard time with surfaces that are hard for them to get a good footing on, but with practice they can learn to become confident and sure of themselves even on the most slippery surfaces.
