Train Dog to

Practicing "Come" with dog from out of sight. The dog trainer should make the dog sit and then give the command to "Stay." If necessary have an assistant hold the dog's leash to keep them in place. As the dog trainer walks away from their dog they should call the dog's name to keep them interested in what is going on. The dog trainer then hides and once hidden calls out "Come" to the dog. At the precise moment the assistant should let go of the dog's collar.

Practicing a simple "Come" in an alley. Have to groups of teams form straight lines facing each other (at the starting position) with a distance of about three meters between them. This is the alley. At the signal of the course instructor the first team walks down the length of the alley and the dogtrainer has their dog sit at the end in the middle of the two teams looking towards the other end of the alley. Then the trainer walks back to the other side of the alley and turns so that they are looking at their dog who is still seated at the other end. At a signal from the course instructor the dog trainer gives the command to "Come" and then the team retakes their place in the line. The next team follows.

Practicing a difficult "Come" in an alley. In this exercise all of the dogs of the group are sitting in a straight line and the trainers are standing in front of them about five meters away. At the signal of the course instructor the first dog trainer takes their dog and walks the length of the alley to the end where they have their dog sit and give it the command to "Stay." The dog trainer then walks back to the other end of the alley and turns to look at their dog. When the course instructor gives the signal the dog trainer calls their dog to "Come." The dog trainer and dog then return to their primary starting places.
